2006 Novella Contest Winner

The Malahat Review is pleased to announce that Pauline Holdstock (Sidney, B.C.) has won the 2006 Novella Prize for “The World of Light Where We Live.”

Holdstock’s novella will be published in the Malahat’s Summer 2006 issue, due in mid-July. Her submission has chosen from 160 entries by the final judges, Rita Donovan (Ottawa, Ontario), John Gould (Victoria, B.C.), and Theresa Kishkan (Gibsons, B.C.).

Saleema Nawaz (Montreal, Quebec) received Honorable Mention. The other finalists in this year’s contest are Julie Booker (Toronto, Ontario), Tony Elias (Seattle, Washington, USA), Michael Kenyon (Pender Island, B.C.), Billie Livingston (Vancouver, B.C.), Valerie Stetson (Kelowna, B.C.), and Petryna Venuta (London, Ontario).
