Poetry Board Intern

Celina SilvaCelina Silva is in the fifth and final year of her undergraduate degree in Creative Writing, focusing on Poetry. She grew up in Nelson, BC, where she attended Selkirk College, studying Creative Writing and Peace Studies. During this time she obtained a Liberal Arts Diploma in Peace Studies from the college. She was Assistant Poetry Editor for This Side of West (TSOW) in 2013/14, Lead Poetry Editor for TSOW in 2015/2016, and is the current TSOW Poetry Editor for the upcoming 2016/2017 school year. A few of her favorite poets include Elizabeth Bachinsky, Kayla Czaga, Frank O’ Hara, George Bowering, Robert Duncan, Barbara Guest, and Fred Wah. Other influences include the study of songwriting, Indigenous Studies, zine-making, and on paths of mental health and healing.
